No? Oh. We haven’t even started yet.
I’m feeling a little bit impatient today. I have a plan, and I’m really excited to kick it off. I have some work to do before that happens though. Mainly, my upcoming move in a month or so. Until I move, I won’t have all the extra cash available to execute on my Diabolical Plan.
What do I do in the meantime?
Well, here is my best idea: Don’t pre-sabotage myself. Here are some ways I’m going to do (not do?) that.
Thou shalt incur no more debt
Basically, don’t dig myself any deeper into this hole. It’s already dank and musty down here as it is.
Ways to do that:
- Bring my own food to work
- Avoid lunches with coworkers whenever possible
- Cook dinner at home
- Find free sources of stock photos even though Shutterstock rocks the house
- Cancel all of the subscriptions that I don’t need
- Those little $5 per month subscriptions sure add up, don’t they?
Thou shalt rid thyself of thy crap
I’m moving soon! This is a great time to go through all of my stuff and see what I can get rid of. I like to give things away because it immediately creates more space, but I am also going to see if there are some things I can put on Craigslist or eBay.
Also, remember that storage unit I mentioned? I don’t even want to think about it, but yeah. I could be going through that too this month.
Thou shalt pay thy taxes
It’s that time of the year! I have my bonus in the bank, I have my business transactions all in pretty spreadsheet rows, and I have all of my dividend and interest statements printed out. I’m ready. My tax lady is going to love me. (Actually, she probably won’t remember me, but I’ll pretend she is my friend. Because why not?)
Thou shalt write in thy shiny new blog
Really, folks, this blog is part of my strategy. Not only do I want to keep all things financial on my mind, but blogging gives me something to do other than find ways to spend my hard-earned cash. In other words, I need a hobby. Blogging is cheap.
Okay, that is probably enough to keep me feeling like I’m making progress in the near future. And guess what? If it isn’t, you’ll be the first to know.
I’ve got nothing. Just wanted to say hi.
